NAGRAT constitution has become a tool for cartelism — Concerned members cry out

A group of concerned members within the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) is raising serious concerns. They describe these issues as cartel-like operations in the association's leadership.

In a strong online statement, they accused NAGRAT leaders of using the constitution to avoid competition. They claim this action sidelines ordinary members.

“The leadership's operations have become extremely concerning,” the statement reads. “The cartel formed from the constitution is obvious and cannot be ignored.”

The concerned members say recent amendments to the NAGRAT constitution make it hard for ordinary members to run for leadership positions. They argue that even school representatives are affected.

“It is clear that the new constitution aims to protect elected officers from competition,” they claimed. “It also alienates most NAGRAT members from democracy.”

They believe introducing circuit representatives complicates matters further. This change prevents school representatives from running in zonal elections.

“Ordinary members cannot contest, and neither can school representatives,” they questioned. “Is this not intriguing?”

The statement criticized other members for their silence and lack of engagement. This was especially noted after the zonal chairman shared the amended constitution on WhatsApp.

“Typical of NAGRAT members, nobody has commented on it,” they noted. “Most likely, many haven't even opened the document.”

The concerned members are calling for transparency and accountability. They want all members actively involved in shaping NAGRAT's future.
