NDC Disability Desk urges Mahama to fulfill 2024 campaign promise on PWD inclusion

Concerned members of the Disability Desk of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have called on H.E. John Dramani Mahama to honor his 2024 campaign promise to include persons with disabilities (PWDs) in key government roles.

In a statement dated January 22, 2025, they emphasized the importance of translating his pledges into action, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for PWDs.

The campaign promises included free tertiary education for PWDs, reviewing the Disability Act, a 5% employment quota in both public and private sectors, and appointments of PWDs to leadership roles.

The Disability Desk expressed readiness to collaborate with the new administration to identify capable PWDs for various positions, ensuring equal participation in national development.
