NDC HQ Built By Prez Mills To Be Named After Founder Rawlings Very Apt - Koku Anyidoho.

President Mahama recently decided to rename the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS). It will now be called John Evans Atta-Mills University of Health and Allied Sciences. This honors the late President who established the university.

Koku Anyidoho, an aide to President Atta-Mills, praised this decision. He believes it is important to honor past leaders appropriately. He stated that building the NDC headquarters was a key achievement of President Atta-Mills after the 2008 elections.

The NDC headquarters in Adabraka will be named after Jerry John Rawlings. This announcement was made by Chairman Johnson Kwadwo Asiedu-Nketiah during a recent gathering. The event commemorated the June 4, 1979 Uprising that made Rawlings Head of State.

Anyidoho described this move as positive for the party. He feels it shows a commitment to honoring past leaders. He expressed happiness about these forward-looking decisions that could unite the party.

He also noted that the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) will consult with the National Executive Committee (NEC) on this matter. This indicates thorough consultation is taking place.

When asked about not naming the building after President Atta-Mills, Anyidoho responded thoughtfully. He emphasized that Atta-Mills respected Rawlings as the founder of their party. He believes Atta-Mills would have supported naming it after Rawlings too.

The NDC was founded in 1992, with JJ Rawlings as its founder. His ideals continue to shape the philosophy of the party today.
