NDC MPs without ministerial appointments not hungry or idle – Dafeamekpor

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, the Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, has addressed recent claims. He dismissed suggestions that unappointed NDC MPs are hungry or idle.

President John Dramani Mahama promised to work with 60 ministers. So far, he has appointed 56, leaving four positions open. This delay has led to public speculation about dissatisfaction among some MPs.

In an interview on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, Dafeamekpor stated that these MPs are busy with constituency work. He emphasized their commitment to the party's agenda. “My MPs are not hungry, they are not idle, and they are not jobless,” he affirmed.

Dafeamekpor also noted that Mahama’s ministerial pledge impacted the political landscape for the 2024 elections. It prompted Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to promise 50 ministers as well. “That kind of promise endeared him to the people for massive votes,” he said.

He concluded by stating that the NDC remains united and focused on its commitments to Ghanaians.
