Mugabe Maase, a supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised concerns. He claims some NDC appointees are spending lavishly in London.
Maase accused these appointees of buying expensive drinks at restaurants. He warned that videos of their actions will soon be leaked. This behavior violates President John Mahama’s code of conduct for public officials.
Speaking on his show on TV XYZ, Maase said, “Some appointees are currently in London chilling. Very soon, your videos will pop up.” He mentioned those at Gold Coast Restaurant specifically.
He noted that some appointees traveled recently, including Sammy Gyamfi, who was previously forgiven by Mahama. Maase urged them to be cautious while abroad and reminded them that he has pictures of their activities.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama launched a new Code of Conduct for political appointees. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and accountability in governance.
During the launch at the Presidency, Mahama stated, “This Code represents a bold declaration of the standards we must uphold.” He emphasized that it is an enforceable framework for all appointed individuals.
The code promotes principles like integrity, impartiality, and prioritizing national interests over personal ones. It also addresses misuse of office and requires declaring potential conflicts of interest.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah warned government appointees against crossing any lines without consequences.
