NDC government’s spending more due to the strong economy we bequeathed to them – Dr Gideon Boako

In a recent statement, Dr. Gideon Boako, spokesperson for Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasized that the current government's increased spending is a result of the robust economy inherited from the previous administration. He argued that under the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), significant economic growth was achieved, which has provided a solid foundation for subsequent expenditure.

Dr. Boako noted that this strong economic performance has facilitated government initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and social services. He praised the policies implemented during their tenure, claiming they have positioned Ghana for sustainable progress despite challenges posed by global economic conditions.

Furthermore, he highlighted that investments in various sectors reflect an ongoing commitment to enhancing citizens' welfare and driving national development. The remarks come amid public scrutiny regarding fiscal management and budget allocations as the government navigates complex financial landscapes while aiming to fulfill its developmental agenda. Through these assertions, Dr. Boako seeks to contextualize current spending within a broader narrative of economic resilience and responsible governance.
