NDC govt tackling inherited corruption, weak leadership – Gbande

Mustapha Gbande, Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, spoke about corruption. He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government inherited a corrupt system. He highlighted issues with leadership and integrity under previous administrations.

During an interview on TV3, he discussed President John Dramani Mahama's commitment to change. Gbande stated, “We have a deficit of leadership and credibility.” He mentioned criminal activities and corruption as major problems they aim to address.

Under President Mahama, security agencies are working harder to fight crime. They are focusing on money laundering, cocaine trafficking, and cybercrime. Gbande noted that these issues were often ignored before.

He claimed that in just 100 days in office, crimes have been addressed more effectively. "You see crimes now that you didn’t see in the last eight years," he said. He emphasized that the current security forces are actively combating various types of crime.

Gbande pointed out that these crimes were happening under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo but went unreported. Now, he believes they are being tackled head-on by the current administration.
