NDC is trying to intimidate opposition parties into silence- Janet Nabla

Janet Asana Nabla is the 2024 presidential candidate for the People’s National Party (PNP). She has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of intimidating rival political parties.

Speaking on Adwenekasa with Kwaku Owusu Adjei, she condemned politically motivated raids and arrests. Nabla claimed these actions target opposition figures to silence dissent and instill fear among smaller parties.

“The NDC is trying to intimidate opposition parties into silence,” she stated. “Raiding homes and making unnecessary arrests won’t work.” She emphasized that all Ghanaians deserve respect and should not be bullied.

Her comments follow rising political tensions in Ghana. There have been several incidents involving security operations at key political figures' homes. Notably, there was an attempted arrest of NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi).

Although the NDC has not claimed responsibility for these actions, Nabla suggested their influence in state institutions might be involved. She urged all opposition parties to stay strong and resist fear.

Nabla stressed that political competition should be based on democratic values, not intimidation. “We must stand firm,” she said. “We will not allow any party to weaponize state institutions against its rivals.”
