NDC members kick against alleged imposition of MCE for Asokore Mampong

Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Asawasi are upset. They oppose President’s nomination of Ben Abdallah as Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong.

Suleiman Bin Masud, a member of the Constituency Communication Team, spoke at a press conference. He said that local party members do not know Ben Abdallah.

Masud emphasized that Abdallah is not their choice. He warned party leaders against causing further division within the constituency.

He claimed that Chairman Faisal Dauda was overlooked because he opposed MP Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak during the primaries. This led to the imposition of Ben Abdallah, who is favored by the MP.

Masud argued that this decision shows leadership does not reward loyalty to the party. Instead, it rewards loyalty to individuals.

He noted that under Chairman Faisal’s leadership, Asawasi NDC achieved significant electoral success. This was due to his dedication and commitment to the party.

He warned that if Abdallah's nomination is not reversed, protests will continue in the constituency. The grassroots will demand action from party leadership.

Masud urged all supporters to rally for Chairman Faisal’s nomination as Municipal Chief Executive for his service to the party.

He expressed concern about how some NDC members are treated as enemies for not supporting the MP during primaries.
