The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to tackle corruption.
They plan to arrest and prosecute former government officials involved in corrupt activities.
This statement responds to the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) calls for action.
The NPP urged Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine to take legal steps if he has evidence.
Mustapha Foyo Gbande, Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, spoke on this issue.
He assured that the Mahama-led administration will uphold accountability and justice.
"Those involved in corruption must be arrested and investigated," he said.
Ghanaians expect accountability, and it is the government's duty to deliver justice.
Gbande defended the Attorney-General’s public comments on transparency.
He stated that transparency does not interfere with due process.
He criticized some opposition figures for avoiding responsibility.
"They make noise now that Akufo-Addo is no longer President," he added.
Gbande emphasized that press conferences won't protect anyone from lawful investigations if found guilty.
He shared these views during an interview with Accra-based Starr FM.
