Staff and management of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) have hoisted red banners in protest against what they describe as politically motivated appointments within their Corporate Communications Office in Tamale.
The demonstration follows reports that two NDC communication officers have been assigned key positions in the corporate communications offices of the Volta River Authority (VRA) and NEDCo.
The move has sparked strong opposition from staff, who argue it threatens professionalism and operational integrity.
William K. Asare, Chairman of the NEDCo Senior Staff Association, warned that the decision could set a dangerous precedent.
He called on the appointing authority to reverse the appointments, cautioning that if no action is taken by next week, the staff will escalate their response.
