Women in Ghana still face significant challenges in political participation. This was revealed at a national consultative forum in Accra.
The forum was organized by NETRIGHT and STAR-Ghana Foundation. Its purpose was to review the 2024 elections. It aimed to promote gender-responsive governance and inclusive democracy.
Stakeholders from various sectors attended the event. These included political parties, civil society groups, youth organizations, media, and development partners.
Ms. Cynthia Sunu, Programme Manager at NETRIGHT, spoke at the forum. She highlighted Ghana's reputation for peaceful elections. However, she expressed concern about women's representation in governance.
