NGO Today for Tomorrow hands over 7-classroom block to Sakasaka Cluster of Schools in Tamale

The Today for Tomorrow Fund (TFT) has handed over a new classroom block to the Sakasaka cluster of schools in Tamale. This includes a three-classroom kindergarten facility and an office.

The initiative aims to address critical infrastructure needs at the school. The Sakasaka cluster is one of the oldest schools in Tamale. It has faced ongoing issues with inadequate facilities. The situation worsened when a fire destroyed its Junior High School (JHS) block, leaving students and teachers without proper learning spaces.

At the handover ceremony, TFT Director Sephania Koutanyi spoke about the project’s significance. He emphasized that it represents more than just new classrooms. “This goes beyond physical infrastructure; it symbolizes hope,” he said. Improved learning spaces can inspire students and educators to reach their full potential.

Tamale Mayor Abubakari Adam Takoro praised the project during his speech. He assured stakeholders that the Assembly would maintain the new facilities. “This is a significant contribution to education in Tamale,” he stated. He expressed gratitude for the support and commitment to work closely with school authorities.

He described the commissioning as proof of partnership and dedication in education. Also present was Seid Mubarak, Member of Parliament for Sunyani East Constituency. He highlighted how collaboration between parents and teachers is vital for advancing education.

“It is very important to acquire knowledge,” he said. Parents and teachers must work together for children’s success, he added. Mubarak encouraged public support for local schools instead of relying solely on government help. “Don’t always wait for the government,” he urged, “You can also do your part.”
