The National Identification Authority (NIA) has started issuing Ghana Cards. This includes both backlog and first-time registrations. The distribution began yesterday at all NIA District Offices in Greater Accra.
Ghanaians who applied for their cards since June 2023 can collect them now. This applies to those seeking first issuance, replacement, or updates of personal records. They should visit the district office where they registered.
The announcement was made by Mr. Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas. He is the Acting Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate at NIA. The statement was shared with The Ghanaian Times on Sunday.
Mr. Darlas encouraged all Ghanaians aged 15 and older to register for the Ghana Card. Those who have not yet registered should visit any NIA District Office in Greater Accra.
