The National Identification Authority (NIA) has started issuing Ghana Cards to Ghanaians in Ottawa and Ontario, Canada, as part of a pilot phase.
The service will soon expand to Washington, D.C., and New York.
The registration process allows Ghanaians abroad to apply online and complete their registration in just 10 minutes.
Fees range from $55 to $115 depending on the region.
The initiative includes training for embassy staff and emphasizes strong data security.
The program aims to enhance identification services for Ghanaians living outside Ghana.
