Nii Kpakpo Samoa, a member of the NDC Communications Team, defended the NIB's actions. He spoke about the arrest of NPP activist Alfred Ababio Kumi, known as Adenta Kumi. Samoa dismissed concerns regarding how the operation was conducted.
He stated that officers were properly identified in marked attire. There were no signs of aggression during the arrest. Video footage reportedly shows officers clearly stating their identity and purpose.
Samoa discussed recorded exchanges between officers and bystanders. He noted that Kumi was informed about the nature of his arrest. Officers assured everyone present that they meant no disorder.
They even allowed others to follow Kumi to the NIB office. "So where lies the problem?" he asked. "Can’t national security conduct raids or make arrests?"
Adenta Kumi was released after intervention from Afenyo-Markin.
