Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, a key member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), wants to relocate the Kumasi Central Prisons.
He shared this view while advocating for better conditions for inmates.
Chairman Coka believes improving inmate conditions is essential.
He also suggests changing the name from prison to correctional center.
In a social media post, he expressed his concerns. He noted that politicians often visit prisons but do little afterward.
"Governments come and go," he wrote. "Big politicians visit prisons to show solidarity."
He criticized their lack of action after these visits.
Coka urged the Interior Minister to improve conditions at Kumasi Central Prison. He also requested its relocation from Adum.
Additionally, he supports renaming prisons to Correction Centers, as seen in other countries.
"Coka, I care," he concluded, emphasizing the need for upgrades in Ghana's prisons.
