The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has been accused of unlawfully seizing a parcel of land at Tse Addo, sparking tensions and a potential legal battle.
Reports indicate that the allegation is currently under investigation by the Ghana Police Service’s Proper Frauds Unit, with claims of invasion and intimidation.
The complainant, who claims ownership of the land, has accused the MP of employing land guards to threaten and forcibly take over the property.
In a related development, former Director of Operations at the Presidency, Lord Oblitey Commey, has also been implicated in a separate land dispute at Tse Addo.
Reports suggest that despite a court order restraining him and his associates from accessing the land, they allegedly proceeded to demolish structures on the disputed property, leading to legal action.
The incidents have raised concerns over increasing land disputes in Accra, particularly in prime areas like Tse Addo, where development is rapidly expanding.
