The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expelled 280 members, including former Gender Minister Cynthia Mamle Morrison, in Agona West for alleged constitutional violations.

The decision, effective 16 December 2024, was reached during an executive meeting on 15 December.

A notice signed by constituency chairman Alhaji Gibrine Tanko bans the expelled members from identifying as NPP affiliates.

The party cited Article 3(9)(1) of its constitution as the basis for the action, following numerous complaints of misconduct.

The NPP called for unity and adherence to party principles ahead of future elections, emphasizing the importance of discipline in safeguarding its democratic integrity.

A list of the expelled members has been circulated to the media and regional leadership for transparency.
