NPP has appointed foot soldiers as judges – Beatrice Annan

Beatrice Annan, a lawyer, and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team member, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of politicizing Ghana’s judiciary by appointing party foot soldiers as judges.

Speaking on a panel, she highlighted Justice Ernest Yao Gaewu, an NPP affiliate, as an example of such appointments.

Annan criticized the practice, asserting that judicial power should serve the people, not political interests.

“We do not give judicial power to party foot soldiers,” she said, adding that the NDC would resist attempts to manipulate the judiciary for partisan gains.

Annan warned the NPP against using the courts to intimidate opponents, stating that the NDC will not tolerate such actions going forward.
