Prof. Ransford Gyampo, acting CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He believes the party has lost its essence due to its current leaders.
Gyampo compared today's NPP leaders to past figures like B.J. Da Rocha and Peter Ala Adjetey. He emphasized that the NPP needs to reconnect with its traditions to regain credibility.
In an interview with Metro TV, he shared his experiences working with notable NPP leaders. He mentioned B.J. Da Rocha and others, highlighting their leadership qualities.
Gyampo stated that the current leadership does not reflect those values. He argued that the NPP must return to its roots if it wants to be taken seriously.
He described the NPP as an elite party that should encourage healthy debate. He criticized the use of social media by some members to insult others instead of learning from them.
In related news, Bernard Antwo Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, announced his candidacy for NPP National Chairmanship. He claimed he had a divine encounter before deciding to run for this position.
Wontumi expressed hope that he could help the party regain power in 2028. Speaking on Wontumi TV, he affirmed his commitment to serve the NPP respectfully when elected.
He stated confidently that he would contest for National Chairman when the time comes.
