Kwame Appiah Kubi, host of Kessben TV’s morning show, made serious allegations. He claimed that some leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ambushed Sarah Adwoa Safo at her home. This was to stop her from attending a scheduled live interview.
Adwoa Safo was set to appear after the party's General Secretary referred her to the Disciplinary Committee. She criticized Justin Frimpong Kodua for trying to silence her.
In response, she questioned why she couldn't speak when he had defended himself publicly. "Who is the NPP General Secretary to tell us not to speak?" she asked angrily.
She pointed out that he had done media tours after their electoral losses without facing questions. Adwoa Safo insisted that no one could silence her and warned party leaders about outside influences on the General Secretary.
"Nobody can shut my mouth," she declared firmly. She reminded him of the upcoming elections and urged him not to be manipulated.
Her comments followed a recent interview on JoyNews where she discussed her treatment in the NPP. Appiah Kubi noted that she was supposed to address important political issues on Kessben TV but couldn’t due to interference from NPP executives.
Details about the alleged ambush are still unclear. Neither Adwoa Safo nor NPP leadership has officially responded yet. However, this situation has sparked discussions about internal tensions within the party and how former officials are treated.
Kessben TV plans to follow up on this developing story as it unfolds.
