Media personality Mansa recently interviewed broadcasters Wereko Brobbey and Yaw Boamah on her YouTube platform. They discussed the political and economic challenges facing Ghana.
The guests criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership. Wereko Brobbey stated, “The NPP simply lied to Ghanaians.” He noted that while they promised prosperity, poverty and rising prices were evident. “There was no progress, only propaganda,” he added.
Yaw Boamah agreed, saying the government failed to listen to citizens. “Nana Akufo-Addo and his people stopped listening,” he said. He emphasized that a government loses legitimacy when it ignores the people's cries.
Brobbey highlighted that Ghana's crisis stems from poor governance, not a lack of resources. “This country is not poor,” he argued. “Ghana is rich in gold, cocoa, oil—everything.” He insisted that leadership has consistently failed the nation.
Regarding President John Dramani Mahama’s new administration, both media figures stressed Ghanaians' expectations. Boamah said firmly, “Mahama must act.” He reminded everyone that people voted for him to fix issues, not for nostalgia.
Brobbey supported this view: “He has to rise to the occasion.” He noted that millions of hopes rest on Mahama's shoulders.
The interview concluded with a mix of hope and urgency. All three acknowledged citizens' frustration but expressed cautious optimism for the future—if leadership fulfills its promises.
