NPP lost 2024 because Bawumia is a Muslim - Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong, a failed New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer hopeful, has criticized Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

At a meeting in Kumasi, he sought support for his second bid to lead the NPP. He claimed the party lost the election due to Bawumia's Islamic faith.

Agyapong argued that many Christian leaders opposed Bawumia because of his religion. He said these leaders encouraged their members not to vote for a Muslim candidate.

He warned that if Bawumia is elected again, the issue will continue.

After the meeting, several attendees rejected Agyapong's claims as "baseless and divisive." They noted that data does not support his religious arguments against Bawumia.
