Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, is calling for major changes in the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He accuses current leaders of leading the party to an "unprecedented defeat."
In an interview on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, he criticized some party figures as “demons.” He believes these individuals must be removed to save the party’s future.
“All executives must resign for leading the party to this defeat,” he stated. He pointed to internal mismanagement and poor decision-making as key issues affecting the NPP's electoral performance.
Frimpong-Boateng also expressed disappointment in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He said his warnings and advice were ignored, despite their potential to improve governance.
“Akufo-Addo turned a deaf ear to my advice,” he said. “His governance has been disappointing.”
He mentioned that many capable people within the NPP have been sidelined by the president.
Frimpong-Boateng emphasized that economic progress relies on investing in human capital and promoting exports. “Good governance is common sense minus corruption,” he explained.
“You can’t just accumulate money; you need exports achieved through strong human resources.”
