NPP must learn from 2024 loss – Acheampong warns

Bryan Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, is speaking to NPP members. He urges them to face their defeat in the 2024 elections honestly. He emphasizes the need for unity within the party.

In a video message, Acheampong discussed the party's current situation. He noted that a lack of unity is harming progress and internal cohesion.

“We went into the 2024 elections and it didn’t go well,” he said. “Everyone is talking now, but there’s no unity, and that’s not good for us.”

Acheampong called for introspection and collaboration among members. He acknowledged that everyone has different ideas but stressed finding common ground.

“Ghanaians have their own ideas, the NPP has its own, and I also have mine,” he stated.

He asked a committee to seek alignment on key issues like jobs and food security. Youth development, safety, security, and infrastructure are also priorities.

Acheampong believes his contributions have shaped his vision for the party. However, he insists this vision must reflect the needs of Ghanaians.

“All these efforts I’ve made in the party have shaped my vision,” he added. “But that vision must connect with the aspirations of Ghanaians.”

His remarks come as the NPP begins regrouping after losing to the NDC in December 2024 polls. Party insiders report increasing discussions about restructuring and reconnecting with voters as they prepare for future challenges.
