Deputy Finance Minister-designate Thomas Nyarko Ampem has raised concerns over the NPP’s decision to boycott the National Economic Dialogue (NED), describing it as a troubling precedent.
The two-day forum, spearheaded by President John Dramani Mahama, focuses on Ghana’s economic recovery under the theme “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together.”
Speaking on Channel One TV, Nyarko Ampem criticized the NPP’s non-participation, recalling their similar stance during the Royal Senchi Economic Forum under Seth Terkper’s tenure.
He stressed the need for bipartisan engagement in shaping economic reforms,
emphasizing that sustained collaboration is essential for Ghana’s economic reset.
He urged collective efforts to ensure meaningful progress, highlighting President Mahama’s call for national consensus.
