The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, announced a nationwide “Thank You” tour. This tour will start next week after their defeat in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Kodua spoke to the press on Wednesday, April 16. He said, “We will be embarking on a Thank You tour from next week.” He emphasized that this is about giving thanks to God.
The purpose of the tour is to appreciate party members and supporters. Mr. Kodua stated, “Though the elections didn’t go in our favour, we are going round to express our appreciation.”
The NPP will hold both Christian and Muslim thanksgiving services during the tour. Mr. Kodua added that if you see party leaders moving around, this is why.
Additionally, the NPP plans to launch a membership drive to reorganize its base. Mr. Kodua explained that regional details will follow soon.
He urged party members to stay united and avoid irresponsible statements. “We are one family,” he said, stressing that unity is crucial for the party.
Mr. Kodua called for patience as they review a report from a 12-member committee on their election defeat. He cautioned against public discussions until they deliberate on it.
“The leadership has a roadmap,” he assured. Soon, they will share a timetable for major activities within the party.
He promised more details would be communicated publicly in due course. “Let’s take notice of that,” he concluded.
