NPP will be better if the ‘demons’ are evicted from the party – Prof Frimpong-Boateng

Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, wants to remove “bad elements” from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He believes all party executives should resign. He blames their leadership for a “shameful defeat” in the 2024 elections.

Prof. Boateng thinks new leadership will restore dignity and trust. This change is necessary for both party members and Ghanaians.

He stated, "All the executives must resign for leading the party to an unprecedented defeat." He warned that if “demons” in the NPP remain in power, the party will continue to struggle.

The renowned heart surgeon criticized former President Akufo-Addo’s leadership. He described him as “unreceptive and close-minded.”

"Akufo-Addo ignored my advice that could have improved our situation," he said. He found his governance disappointing and noted many capable people were sidelined.

Prof. Boateng urged politicians to focus on building human capacity. This approach would increase productivity for exports rather than just raising domestic revenue.

He emphasized that leaders should use common sense and avoid corruption.

"Good governance is common sense minus corruption," he explained. "We need exports achieved by developing strong human resources."
