NPP will be better if the ‘demons’ are removed – Prof Frimpong Boateng

Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has called for a complete change in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership. This follows the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.

In an interview on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, Prof. Frimpong-Boateng criticized the current leadership as ineffective. He accused them of leading the party to a “shameful” and “unprecedented” electoral loss. He stated that all executives should resign due to this defeat.

He emphasized that removing “bad elements” from leadership is crucial. This change is necessary to restore trust among party members and the public.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng also criticized former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's leadership style. He described him as “unreceptive and close-minded.”

His comments come as the NPP faces internal divisions after the 2024 elections. The party experienced a significant drop in parliamentary representation and lost the presidency.
