Pressure is mounting on the West African Examination Council (WAEC) as the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) demands the immediate release of withheld WASSCE results.
The results were reportedly held back due to alleged malpractices in the 2023 exams. WAEC, however, has filed a stay of execution at the High Court against an earlier order to release them.
NUGS President Daniel Korley Botchway has issued a one-week ultimatum, warning that failure to comply will result in nationwide protests and legal action.
He criticized WAEC for delays, arguing that the council has had ample time to complete its investigations.
NUGS also accused WAEC of bias, urging the government to consider alternative examination bodies if the council fails in its duties.
