Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang returns to Ghana after medical treatment in UK

New photos confirm that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has fully recovered. She has returned to her official duties.

This follows a brief period of medical attention that raised public concerns.

A few days ago, President John Dramani Mahama updated the public on her health. He spoke during the launch of a nationwide sanitary pad distribution initiative on April 24, 2025.

The President addressed her absence at the event. He reassured Ghanaians that she is recuperating well and in good spirits.

“I wish to extend Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang's greetings to all of you,” he said. “I spoke to her yesterday and told her we would miss her.”

He added, “She asked me to say hello and that she is resting. She is doing very well and will soon join us for the reset agenda.”

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang fell ill on March 28, 2025. She sought medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre the next day. Afterward, she was sent abroad for further assessment.
