Nana Akomea reacts to Mussa Dankwah’s post-election survey

Nana Akomea is the Vice Chairman of the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team. He stated they are ready to discuss findings from Mussa Dankwah. Dankwah is the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics.

In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Akomea expressed their desire to understand the survey methods. He noted that one survey showed about 60% of Ghanaians prefer Bawumia for the next elections. Understanding these details is important for guiding their campaign.

This statement follows Dankwah’s survey release. The survey suggested key figures in the NPP contributed to its defeat in 2024.

Dankwah explained that respondents initially named those they believed caused the loss. The report identified former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a major figure blamed, with 40% of respondents citing him. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was mentioned by 37%, who felt his campaign lacked inspiration.

Other figures included Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh (33%), various government appointees (32%), and Members of Parliament (25%). Kennedy Agyapong, who contested but did not lead, was blamed by 9%.

The team used frequently mentioned names to create a structured survey. Although Akomea found some findings unclear, he stressed the need for further engagement. This will help them better understand the survey and its implications.
