The Nana Amoasi VII Charity Foundation held the 2025 Child Health Promotion Week. This event took place in Ekumfi Abor. It aimed to bring essential health services to local families.
This year's theme was: "Every Child Deserves a Healthy Future; Invest in Your Child. Attend 'Weighing' Regularly." The celebration is usually organized by the Ghana Health Service.
The event provided many free health services. These included vaccination programs and child growth monitoring. There was also Vitamin A supplementation and free birth registration for infants under one year. Families received long-lasting insecticide-treated nets and free National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) registration for children under five.
Notable attendees included Nana Araba Ahinfuwa, Queen Mother of Ekumfi Abor, and Nana Edumadze III, Regent of Ekumfi Abor. Dr. Regina Ahunu-Armah, District Director of Health Services, also attended along with a representative from the Member of Parliament.
Dr. Regina Ahunu-Armah emphasized the event's importance for child survival. She noted it helps reduce child morbidity and mortality rates. She thanked the Nana Amoasi VII Foundation for their support in health service delivery.
Nana Araba Ahinfuwa and Nana Edumadze III highlighted key health practices. They stressed exclusive breastfeeding, routine immunizations, and obtaining birth certificates for children. They also encouraged parents to secure active health insurance for their kids.
Both leaders promised to continue working with the Nana Amoasi VII Charity Foundation to help local children.
