The project, intended as a symbol of Ghana’s Christian heritage, remains a key government commitment
The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has explained the reasons behind the suspension of the National Cathedral project.
Speaking on Kingdom FM, he attributed the delay to global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
He noted that the pandemic forced the government to redirect funds initially allocated for the Cathedral towards stabilizing Ghana’s economy and providing relief measures such as free electricity and water to citizens.
“The government prioritized the well-being of Ghanaians over infrastructural projects,” Nana Boakye stated, assuring that the Cathedral project would resume once the economic situation improves.
The project, intended as a symbol of Ghana’s Christian heritage, remains a key government commitment.
