The Late Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng
Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, a distinguished journalist, passed away on May 26, 2025. He died in London after a short illness with cancer. He was 74 years old.
Nana Gyan-Apenteng was the former editor and columnist of The Mirror weekly newspaper. He held the title of Apagyahene of Tafo Eti in the Eastern Region.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was deputy editor of West Africa magazine. This magazine was based in London.
After returning to Ghana in the 1990s, he worked with the Third World Network. He led their communication unit and edited Africa Agenda magazine.
He also served as a media trainer and communication consultant. His clients included MTN, UN agencies, and STAR Ghana.
Nana Gyan-Apenteng graduated from Apam Secondary School and the University of Ghana, Legon.
He is survived by six children. The family will announce burial and funeral arrangements soon.
