Dr. Nana Yaw Akwada, Executive Director of the Bureau of Public Safety, commended Dr. George Akuffo Dampare’s tenure as Inspector General of Police, citing his efforts in instilling discipline, order, and a citizens-first approach in the police force.
While Dampare earned public praise for fostering thoughtful decision-making among officers, Akwada expressed concern over the potential harm of celebrating his removal.
He emphasized the need to safeguard the public trust built under Dampare's leadership.
Akwada also acknowledged the new IGP, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, as a popular and respected figure but reminded that effective public service leadership goes beyond popularity, particularly in Ghana’s complex context.
