North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has blamed President Nana Akufo-Addo for the stalled National Cathedral project, accusing him of misleading the Board of Trustees. A
blakwa insists the President should refund $58 million spent on the project and compensate for related losses.
Speaking on TV3’s Key Points, he criticized the ongoing payment of salaries to the Board despite a 38-month halt in construction. Ablakwa cited a recent CHRAJ report revealing procurement breaches, calling for the cancellation of the contract with Ribade Company Ltd.
He described the project’s financial management as an “illegality” and demanded recovery of funds.
The initiative, introduced by Akufo-Addo in 2016, has faced criticism over funding inconsistencies and a lack of transparency.
