The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has recommended a forensic audit and possible prosecution of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees following allegations of corruption and abuse of power.
A report dated November 22, 2024, revealed procurement breaches in awarding the construction contract to Ribade Company Ltd., deeming it "void ab initio."
CHRAJ urged the Public Procurement Authority to cancel the contract and called on the Auditor-General to audit the project, questioning the GHS225.96 million spent as of May 2022.
The investigation followed a petition by MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
While the government has yet to respond, CHRAJ exonerated Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng of allegations related to dual identities and conflict of interest.
Concerns remain over reputational risks and value for money.
