The National Economic Dialogue Planning Committee has submitted its final report. The committee has seven members and is chaired by Dr. Ishmael Yamson.
The presentation occurred on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Presidency. This event is part of President John Dramani Mahama’s 120-day Social Contract with Ghanaians.
The National Economic Dialogue took place from March 3 to 4 at the Accra International Conference Centre. It gathered various stakeholders, including the private sector and civil society organizations. Traditional authorities and academia also participated in discussions about economic recovery.
President Mahama thanked all stakeholders for their contributions to the dialogue process. He praised the inclusive nature of the discussions and participants' patriotic commitment. He noted that the final report reflects a strong national consensus on future actions.
He commended the planning committee and all involved parties for their efforts. This includes institutions in the private sector, trade unions, think tanks, civil society organizations, youth leaders, and international partners. Their contributions were vital to the success of the dialogue.
The final report outlines what needs to be done to stabilize the economy. It aims to restore investor confidence and promote inclusive growth.
Additionally, President Mahama announced plans for an inter-ministerial implementation committee. This committee will coordinate the rollout of recommendations from the National Economic Dialogue report.
