National Security Ministry dismisses Reuters’ claims that militants are using Ghana as logistical base

The Ministry of National Security has condemned a recent Reuters report claiming that Islamist militants use northern Ghana as a logistical and medical base.

In a statement issued on October 25, the Ministry called the report inaccurate, asserting it was based on outdated information from the Netherlands Institute of International Relations.

The Ministry firmly denied any “non-aggression” understanding with militant groups, labeling the claims as “unfounded” and an “unwarranted slur.”

Ghana’s counter-terrorism efforts, particularly along its northern borders, have been praised by international partners, the Ministry added, and urged the public to disregard the report.
