National Security didn’t demolish wall around Prison Service land – Interior Minister

Interior Minister Henry Quartey has denied allegations by MP Okudzeto Ablakwa that Prof. Kwaku Appiah Adu, with national security operatives, demolished a Ghana Prisons Service fence to claim its land.

Prof. Adu, asserting legitimate ownership, has taken the case to court.

Quartey emphasized that the Interior Ministry had no official notice of the demolition and highlighted redevelopment plans for Prisons Service barracks to address poor living conditions.

The redevelopment, endorsed by prison officers, includes new accommodations and headquarters.

Quartey confirmed the developer would receive land deeds, amidst conflicting positions between the Interior Ministry and Lands Commission.
