National Security Discovers Counterfeiting Operation in Sapeiman

National Security has uncovered a major counterfeiting operation in Sapeiman. They found official Bank of Ghana cash boxes at the scene. This discovery raises concerns about regulatory failures and financial security.

During a press tour, Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations, confirmed the money boxes were authentic. The bust occurred in February and revealed a large forgery ring. This operation was hidden behind an abandoned building posing as a battery-charging shop.

Security operatives discovered ten 40-foot containers filled with counterfeit currency. They found fake Ghana cedi and US dollar notes, along with fake gold bars.

National Security is now searching for the suspected leader of the operation, known as “Alhaji.” Jakpa stated that there is solid evidence linking Alhaji to this crime scene and a larger criminal network.
