National Service personnel to undergo military training from August 2025

The National Service Authority (NSA) is discussing a new program. This program is called the National Service Emergency Response Readiness Programme (NSERRP). It aims to provide basic military training for National Service Personnel (NSPs).

The meeting took place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. It involved the NSA and the Military High Command. This initiative supports President John Dramani Mahama’s goal of promoting discipline and fitness among graduates.

President Mahama announced this initiative during his State of the Nation Address on February 27, 2025. At the meeting, NSA Director-General Felix Gyamfi spoke about its importance. He believes this training will help build a resilient and patriotic youth.

Gyamfi stated that all national service personnel will undergo military drills. This experience aims to foster national development among the youth. Brigadier General Amoah-Boakye represented the Military High Command at the meeting.

He assured support from the Ghana Armed Forces for this program. The military is ready to provide necessary training when it officially starts. The training will last up to two months and begin on August 3, 2025.
