Minister of State-designate for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, has urged a national dialogue to review Ghana’s public sector recruitment process.
During her vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee, she emphasized the need for efficiency, transparency, and meritocracy in hiring practices across government institutions.
Akanvariba outlined plans to strengthen public sector operations through capacity building, institutional reforms, and technology adoption.
She stressed that public sector inefficiencies hinder national development and advocated digitization to streamline processes and curb corruption.
“Leveraging technology will reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and human interference in administrative tasks,” she noted.
Akanvariba reiterated that reforming recruitment and modernizing operations are crucial to improving governance and service delivery.
