National security investigates Jumah’s son for using state vehicle

The investigation into former GIHOC Distilleries Managing Director Maxwell Kofi Jumah is ongoing. New information suggests that one state-owned vehicle was used by his son.

This revelation came after national security operatives visited Mr. Jumah’s home on May 15, 2025. They aimed to retrieve official vehicles suspected to be unlawfully kept after his tenure. Mr. Jumah was not at home during the operation.

Sources say Mr. Jumah later told his private security team to return the vehicles. He reportedly acknowledged that one vehicle had been with his son.

The vehicle in question is part of three under investigation by the state. One is a luxury Genesis G90 saloon car, sold to Mr. Jumah at just 5% of its market value.

Two other vehicles, including an Audi worth over $60,000, were allegedly kept without Board approval.

So far, one vehicle has been recovered and returned to Accra.

The investigation involves national security and other state agencies. They are examining the legality of the transactions and if they violated public asset management rules.

Authorities are also looking into possible misconduct regarding the sale and retention of government property by former officials.
