Nestlé Supplier Day 2025: Fostering collaboration for sustainable growth

Nestlé Ghana held its first Supplier Day at the Fiesta Royale Hotel. Over 100 suppliers attended, representing direct and indirect materials.

The event's theme was "Procurement in the 21st Century." It focused on collaboration for mutual growth and sustainability.

Salome Azevedo, the incoming Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana Ltd., spoke first. She stressed the importance of strong partnerships for innovative solutions and sustainability.

Nestor Finalo, Regional Supply Chain Director for Central and West Africa, also spoke. He highlighted how collaboration drives success in today’s market. Innovation and sustainability are key to this effort.

Deborah Kwablah, Corporate Communications Manager for Nestlé Ghana, led a panel discussion on Sustainability. She showcased Nestlé’s social projects that benefit communities.

The panel included Juan Fernandez de la Vega from Nestlé Central and West Africa. Max Essoh Latte from Cargill and Rafael Pirez from Polytank also participated. They discussed sustainability and its future impact on supply chains.

Maria Lovelace Johnson, Director of the FDA's Inspectorate Division, emphasized food processing standards. She noted the FDA's partnership with Nestlé to ensure compliance.

Chimatara Anyanwu, Supplier Chain Manager for Nestlé Coastal Cluster, shared insights on process optimization. He discussed elevating supplier expectations as well.

The event covered ethical sourcing and essential standards like GFSI. Topics included supplier financing, legal responsibilities, tax compliance, and quality assurance. This reinforced Nestlé’s commitment to excellence.

The day ended with a reminder that collaboration drives innovation and shared goals. Nestlé Ghana is dedicated to building sustainable partnerships that create value for all stakeholders.
