The Network of Women in Broadcasting (NOWIB) is committed to improving Ghana’s press freedom ranking. They aim to create a better environment for women journalists.
This commitment was shared in a statement for World Press Freedom Day. This year, the day falls on Saturday, May 3. The theme is “Reporting in the Brave New World.” It focuses on the impact of artificial intelligence on press freedom and media.
Linda Biamah Akwafo, NOWIB's President, signed the statement. World Press Freedom Day reminds governments to uphold press freedom. It also supports media organizations facing restrictions and honors journalists who have lost their lives seeking truth.
