President Akufo-Addo expressing displeasure at a chief who was sitting while attempting to greet him
Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, has voiced strong disapproval of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s treatment of Ghanaian chiefs, describing his legacy as disappointing.
Speaking on GHOne TV, the traditional leader highlighted instances of alleged disrespect toward chiefs, including claims of undue reverence being demanded by the presidency.
Reflecting on the outgoing administration, Nana Boadi lamented missed opportunities to strengthen relations between government and traditional governance institutions.
He urged Ghanaians to consider leadership qualities carefully when electing future presidents.
“We pray we don’t get another Akufo-Addo to be president of Ghana,” he stated, emphasizing the need for leaders who respect cultural and traditional values while fostering goodwill.
