New Juaben: One dead, two hospitalised after gas explosion at Oyoko

A young boy and a woman are in critical condition at the Eastern Regional Hospital after suffering severe burns from a gas explosion at their home in Oyoko, New Juaben North Municipality.

The explosion tragically claimed the life of Asante Rose, a Purchasing and Supply student at Koforidua Technical University.

Reports indicate that Rose attempted to locate a gas leak in the kitchen by lighting a match, inadvertently triggering the explosion.

Her younger brother and a neighbor were also caught in the blast and rushed to the hospital, where Rose later succumbed to her injuries.

The Ghana National Fire Service responded to the incident, assisting in containing the fire and aiding police investigations. KTU management has been informed but has yet to comment.
